India China War 1967-The forgotten battle in Nathula pass

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

1967 War was a series of Military Clashes at Nathu La and Chola Pass between India and China.This battle changed the way the World thought of India as a military power as after the war China never ever had a major war with India except some of the clashes in 2017 in Doklam and some face offs over the years.It was the reason why China remained silent in 1971 when Bangladesh was formed of Pakistan and Pakistan lost the Eastern Pakistan which a a very big part and was important for Pakistan.

THE TIBETAN SIDE

In the 1950s China said that Tibet will be part of China but it will have its autonomy. After that Tibet`s Dalai lama stayed in a place in Himachal Pradesh in India.There was a process in which Tibet chose its next Dalai Lama which was like the present Dalai Lama would choose a child who is capable of becoming the next Dalai Lama and That child would be grown in a different way so that he or she can rule in Tibet.So when the present Dalai lama chose a child  china opposed it and said that we will chose a leader for tibet and captured that child which was chosen and that child is not found since 1995.While USA is trying to pass a bill so as to consider Tibet as an independent Country which may change the world map. document.write('');

So if we see practically then it is a face off between Tibet and India but It is not the case because China had a complete control over Tibet in 1960s and if Tibet would not be part of China then the Clashes of 1962 and 1967 would not be there as Tibet was a peace loving country.

THE STORY BEGAN

The story starts when China says that India should leave Nathula Pass as it is China`s Territory but major Sagat singh denied to do so and then on September 11 1967 Chinese Military attacked Nathu La pass which it said China owned and In that clash many Indian soldiers lost their lives .As of resources around 70 Indian soldiers lost their lives and only some Chinese soldiers died. The first day remembered India of 1962 battle. But after the second day various battalion leaders led the army but lost their lives also but in total India won in the second day. On the third and fourth day Indian soldiers fought bravely and then many Chinese soldiers were set back and India won the Nathu la battle.It continued till 15th september 1967.

BLOODSHED

After that battle Chinese also tried to win the Chola pass on October 1st and 2nd and In that battle China lost very badly and India conquered Sikkim as its territory. It changed the way the world thought of India as a Military power.Before that in 1965 India won in INDO-PAK battle and showed its power. This battle has been forgotten in India`s history. This is only a try to bring back that victorious battle. In total 88 Indian soldiers gave their lives for their nation while 370 Chinese soldiers died and thousands were injured. The battle was a symbol of glory to India`s Military power.
